Technical Writing

Objectives:

Students will put into practice what they have learned about writing reports by following the BOOKLET CHECKLIST on page 91 of their textbooks.  We are completing exercise 4.2 on page 90.

Assignment:
1) Finish data compilation of a "bad traffic intersection" around Wamego (if incomplete or unsure, see completed example from a classmate)
2) Refer to the BOOKLET CHECKLIST on page 91, create a report using the section labels we created in class as a guide [overall layout, safety, suggested improvement, visuals]
3) Each section should have at least a paragraph description.  Use bullets and numbers when applicable.  Be sure to label your visuals and refer to them in your writing.

Grading Rubric (50 points) - due at the end of class!!!  If you didn't use time wisely on Tuesday, you are behind.  Read the rubric for your options if you don't get done.

Objectives:

Students will finish summarizing Chapters 14-17 (hand in at end of class)
Students will be assessed on their comprehension with 16-17 quiz on Beowulf
Students will download and practice their PART 3 Vocabulary (see course downloads and play Pac Man below)
Students will download and preview the research project forms. (see course downloads)
Students will decide on 3 possible topics for their research papers. (3 ideas by next Tuesday)
    *it will need to refer in some way to the 4 key questions of determining worldview
     (Origin, Meaning, Morality, Destiny)
Students will practice grammar using the ACT prep booklets. (if there is time)
