Week 1

Welcome to 7th Grade Language Arts

I hope you enjoy the fun of being a part of my style of teaching. I hope it is fun, challenging, and a little off-the-wall. The syllabus is able to be downloaded from the list on the right titled "Course Downloads".

Vocabulary
• rattled (p. 369): made a series of sharp, short sounds
• prodded (p. 369): poked or jabbed with a stick
• drop (p. 370): fall or let fall
• slouched (p. 370): sat, stood, or walked with the head drooping
and shoulders slumping
• smoothed (p. 370): made level or even
• scream (p. 371): give a loud, shrill cry in fright, pain, or surprise
• thump (p. 374): hit, fall, or pound with a dull sound
• hustle (p. 375): go or do quickly with much energy
