Week 32

Sorry about no postings over the past two weeks. I have been unable to get my posts to finalize. I believe I have the problem resolved.

We are half-way into a great introduction into how Literature impacts culture. We began this journey by looking into the Greek Myths and how they are ingrained in a lot of our movies and books.

Now, we are visiting the world of Pirates and seeing how they permeate every facet of our culture. But the most interesting aspect is the source of the stereotypes and mythological features: Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson

Already, the foundations are clearly seen...from rum to scallywags, the fun is continual and hopefully the adventure of Jim Hawkins keeps everyone glued to their books as we learn even more about our own modern myth: Pirates.
